We do not accept payment to feature, boost, or suppress any game. Our rankings are algorithmic and based entirely on verified player scores.
We will never remove a review because it is negative, because a developer requests it, or because it disagrees with critical consensus. Low scores are as valuable as high ones.
We do not optimize for time-on-site, outrage, or controversy. We optimize for accuracy. If the honest answer is 'this game is fine,' we say that.
Our server-side verification system queries Steam OpenID and PSN APIs in real time on every review submission. Playtime data is never cached for more than 60 seconds. You cannot fake it.
We weight Full Reviews (Platinum/100%) at 2x compared to Initial Thoughts. The Score Gap — the difference between critic scores and our player average — is often the single most useful number on the page.
